I am always amazed at how many people do not know or even heard of PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder).
Mayo clinic’s website describes PMDD as:
a severe, sometimes disabling extension of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Although regular PMS and PMDD both have physical and emotional symptoms, PMDD causes extreme mood shifts that can disrupt your work and damage your relationships.
It goes on to say:
at least one of these emotional and behavioral symptoms stands out:
-Sadness or hopelessness
-Anxiety or tension
-Extreme moodiness
-Marked irritability or anger
And I would add to that list suicidal thoughts.
There are many things that I have found to be helpful to make my symptoms less severe. You can find that list here.
